A New Container

This past Saturday was another great step forward at the roof.  We pricked out a few hundred transplants of head lettuce and put it into pots, sowed more micros and organized the roof for this Thurdsay's white roof cleaning.   Don't forget that we need volunteers for the painting day of June 13.  Check out our events page for more information and let Mia know at miabrezin@gmail.com if you can help out.

This Saturday I have a fun project in the works.  We'll be sowing lettuce mix in 60  large bowls I picked up at the dollar store.  30 are actually small wash basins that I'll drill holes in and the other 30 are colinders with tiny holes already.  It was a grand total of $100 and will allow for tons of green to be grown!  This is a great low cost option for salad greens and are much cheaper than anything labeled to be a "planting pot".

Come help sow greens at 1PM on Saturday!  If you haven't seen the roof yet, this is a great time to come.  Everything is looking great...Kale is getting nice n big, tomatoes are putting out flowers, and herbs are smellin' like a dream.
